About

Hey there, I'm Scott Hiney.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, I’m currently an 8th-grade Reading Language Arts teacher at Forest Meadow Junior High in Richardson ISD. Prior to working in education, I was in the marketing and advertising world. I most recently worked for Multiview, a Business-to-business agency in Las Colinas, as a Content Marketing Strategist. Before that, I worked in social media roles for both the Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas and FOX Sports Southwest in Irving. While attending OU where I majored in Advertising, I also worked as a sports reporter and multimedia producer for the OU Daily –– the university's student newspaper. I served as a media team member in the leadership for Wildwood College Life, a college ministry within Wildwood Community Church. I also spent two years as a media center assistant for the OU School of Dance. 

I have heavy writing experience across a variety of formats including print and digital journalism, client-side digital content, creative copywriting, and miscellaneous work within several blogs including my own. I am passionate about sports (specifically basketball and soccer), current events, American politics, data visualization, graphic design, and history.

I married my wife, Morgan, in March 2018 and she is the most thoughtful, intelligent, put-together, and loving person I know. I'm insanely lucky she chose me. In May 2022, we had our first child, our daughter Clarke Emma. She’s a seriously-cute little lady who has made me realize that parenting isn’t actually that difficult when your lucky enough to have a perfect baby.
